Mark your calendar - the date of the upcoming social event for all Columbia Rotarians has been changed to June 22 from the previously announced date of June 1. Styled "The Columbia Rotary Redneck Triathlon & BBQ," the event will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, at Cody's Bar & Grill, 2508 Paris Rd. Attendees will be able to enjoy a savory BBQ dinner and cheer on our club's "athletes" as they compete against the other clubs in the 2006 "Redneck Games." The double-elimination, spectator-friendly events comprising the Redneck Games are: 1) Billiards, 2) Darts, and 3) Washer-Pitch. There will also be a bonus event in which one person from each club will ride the mechanical bull. For each of the three main events, we need at least one two-person team. We're looking for club members with expertise in these games -- or at least a lack of embarrassment about playing them in front of a crowd.
