Membership Qualifications
New Rotary members are proposed by existing club members. Proposals are reviewed by the Membership Committee and Board of Directors and then published to club members. Absent protest by club members (which can be overridden by the Board of Directors), the proposed new member may then join. To be eligible for membership, a proposed new member must be:

  • A leading representative of a business or professional activity
  • Willing to help and participate in projects that enhance the community
  • Willing to work on projects that help people in deve

Classification and Membership Types
A goal of Rotary is to have members who represent a broad cross-section of the businesses and professions in the community. Therefore, members are classified by their business or profession. There are two membership types:

  • Active: Up to 10% of club members may have the same business/professional classification (but retired members do not count against the 10% limit).
  • Honorary: Honorary members are selected by the Club's Board of Directors and are reviewed annually

Attendance Rules
To remain eligible for membership, unless excused, members must attend or make up 60% of club meetings during each January-June and July-December period. Members must attend 60% of the meeting to receive credit for the meeting. Thirty percent of meetings attended must be at the home club. Makeups may be credited against an absence within two weeks before and after a missed meeting. A member may be permanently excused from these requirements only upon written request when the combined total of his or her age plus years of membership in Rotary equals or exceeds 85.
