Annice and John Wetzel celebrate an anniversary on the 18th.

Our sympathies to Tim Donovan.  His wife Ann passed away on March 13th.   A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 17th at 10:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Salvation Army.

Louie Van Drie asked Harris fellows to stand and be recognized. The board approved another $1,000 to match member contributions, and $900 still is available. Cindy Sheltmire reached her second level of "+1" and received another sapphire. Congratulations, Cindy!

This year marks the 85th anniversary of our club.  In honor of this milestone the social committee is planning a “charter night” on April 10th at Boone County National Bank.   Mark your calendars and we hope all of you plan to attend.

We will be taking a Club photo on March 22.

Judy Elliott is planning a trip to Cuernavaca Mexico to see the work of our matching grant as well as deliver the gift of defribulators from Chief Margraf and the Columbia Fire Department.  If you have an interest in making this trip with Judy, please contact her.

The Group Study Exchange Team (GSE) from Germany will visit April 14--17th. A Social is planned for April 15. Please consider hosting a team member in your home.

May 4-6 is the 2007 District Conference in Sedalia.  All Rotarians are invited and encouraged to attend.

June 17-20 is the 2007 International Convention in Salt Lake City. There is great information about the Convention on the Rotary International website:

If you have an interest in the District Conference or the International Convention, please let Paige Scott know.

NEED A RIDE TO ROTARY?

Program: Author Jim Muench summarized his new book, "Five Stars: Missouri's Most Famous Generals," published by University Press. The Generals include Alexander William Doniphan (Liberty); Sterling Price (Keytesville); Ulysses S. Grant (not a Missouri native); John J. Pershing (Laclede); and Omar Bradley (Moberly). Muench selected his subjects for several reasons, including careers that changed the world or this country, The most successful ones focused on results.
