Judy Elliott is planning a trip to Cuernavaca Mexico to see the work of our matching grant as well as deliver the gift of defribulators from Chief Margraf and the Columbia Fire Department.  If you have an interest in making this trip with Judy, please contact her.

The Group Study Exchange Team (GSE) from Germany will visit April 14--17th. A Social is planned for April 15. Please consider hosting a team member in your home.

May 4-6 is the 2007 District Conference in Sedalia.  All Rotarians are invited and encouraged to attend.

June 17-20 is the 2007 International Convention in Salt Lake City. There is great information about the Convention on the Rotary International website:

If you have an interest in the District Conference or the International Convention, please let Paige Scott know.

NEED A RIDE TO ROTARY?

The Hospitality Committee prepares get-well cards for members who are ill and can set up rides for members who can't otherwise get to meetings. Please email Caroline Gower or call 874-8712 (work) 874-2451 (home).

Columbia Public Schools Board of Education Director Karla DeSpain explained the April 3 ballot proposal to members. This election would authorize $60 million as part of a three-phase plan to improve all school facilities. Additional $60 million proposals would be offered in 2011 and 2013. The plan would maintain current tax levels for capital improvements at Columbia schools and extend the current debt payoff period for five years. The proposal requires the approval of 57% of voters. For more information, visit the Columbia Public Schools website.
