CHECK PRESENTATIONS (made on 12/15/05):  Representing Stephens College was VP for Development and Alumnae Relations Carol Julian and representing the Playhouse Company and Stephens Theatre and Performing Arts was Peter Byger. They were presented with a $500 check that included  proceeds from the production of A Christmas Carol.



Major George Windham of the Salvation Army was presented a check for $2,143.79 that included proceeds from the bell ringing efforts. Additional donations can be sent to The Salvation Army, PO Box 1864, Columbia MO

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
  • Sympathy:   Dr. Jerry Brouder’s mother, Florence Brouder passed away last Friday (12/16).  Jerry is an honorary member of our club.  A card was circulated for members wanting to sign.

  • To help her keep in touch, the club presented Vero, our Rotary Youth Exhange Student from Mexico, with a pay-as-you-go cell phone with some airtime already loaded.

  • SALVATION ARMY BELL RINGING: Marty Walker announced that Salvation Army Bell Ringing by our Club on December 17th collected $1,017.61   Thanks to everyone who participated by ringing bells or making donations.

  • DECEMBER IS FAMILY MONTH—Please bring your spouse, significant other or family member to our final Club meeting on 12/29.  There isn’t a program that day, but it will be a great opportunity to mix and mingle with everyone.   If you plan to bring one or more guests, please inform Darcy Wells at wellsd@missouri.edu.
  • CLUB DIRECTORY: The 2005-06 Club Directory has been distributed at the last couple of club meetings and will continue to be available there for club members who have not already received a copy. Club members unable to attend who want a directory should contact Steve Scott.

The Hospitality Committee prepares get-well cards for members who are ill and can set up rides for members who can't otherwise get to meetings. Please notify Caroline Maher by email at

Our program was introduced by Cindy Sheltmire.

Nollie Moore, conductor of the Jane Froman Singers at Columbia College, entertained us with holiday carols. Stacey Pendergrass, soprano, sang with Nollie. They were accompanied by Judy Shaw on the piano.
